Hello everyone,

First of all: please forgive my English — I’m from Barcelona, and English is not my strong suit… Sorry about that.

I was really happy to be able to start a game from turn 1. I thought these kinds of games no longer existed, so when I found PlanetsCentral it was a pleasant surprise.

I started playing VGAPLANETS back around 1995, if I remember correctly…

I’ve read on the forum that some players are complaining because Russian players team up with others from their country to form alliances (even when they’re not allowed) and try to win by any means. Well, back in my day, that was already happening: Americans would team up with Americans, Russians with Russians, Germans with Germans, and, of course, Spaniards with Spaniards…

If you came from a smaller or less represented country, it was a bit harder to survive because you’d get attacked from all sides…

There were also alliances between people from different countries — for example, if you had shared one or more games with a player and had a good rapport with them, you’d often end up allying with them in future games, regardless of their nationality. Sometimes even against players from your own country.

What I mean is that I’m not too worried about these so-called Russian alliances. Maybe they even make the game more challenging…

I’ve seen that most things are still the same, although I’ve noticed that the names and features of the ships have changed (I used to play with all the races and had memorized the strengths and characteristics of each race and its ships). Well, just one more challenge for me. I hope to make it to turn 20 alive, hahaha.

In this game, I do miss the ion storms a bit. A storm hitting at an unexpected moment, depending on its intensity, could really mess up your battle plans, force you to abort a mission, or even cause you to lose a fleet. But no worries — I’m fine with the parameters of this match.

Anyway, sorry for the long message, and I wish you all good luck and skill (well… not too much, because I’ll also be trying to win…).
