It depends, Lupus-Titan-Tequila series use standard ships. Other series use Plist ships, ships are different but can also have additional features.

On the subject of pre-established groups, I also believe that using the same language allows for much easier communication and I believe that this is the main reason why they form alliances. If there were other Italians besides me, I would probably contact them first.
